I’ve got to share some awesome Book news today! The Vampire from Hell: The Beginning – Part One just got accepted for distribution on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, etc. It’ll show up in early March 2011 on those sites for download. [insert Happy dance here]

I’ve been waiting since early January to see when/if Smashwords (the Independent Publishing company I use) would approve Part One of my book, so it could move to their Premium Category. And the day has finally arrived! Being in that classification means the book is allowed to go on to a larger market including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Diesel, Apple where more eReaders can learn about Rayea’s story. It’s great news and puts a spring in my step today! I’ve already sent a text to Rayea as well :)

Thanks again to everyone out there who’s read this Part One and wants to see more. I’m working on Part Two now and greatly appreciate your support! Remember you can check out my Smashwords profile for the latest updates or my Facebook  page.

Update 3/4/11: The Vampire from Hell: The Beginning – Part One makes it to Apple iBooks, the application for Apple’s iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. If you have the application on your phone, you can download it.

Update 3/5/11: The Vampire from Hell: The Beginning – Part One is now a part of the Barnes & Noble ebook store. You can download it (for free). Other eBook retailers that have launched Part One today include:

  • Sony - $0.00
  • Diesel - $0.00

Unless something has changed just in the last day or two, being published on Smashwords won’t get you on Amazon. SW is trying to work out an agreement with Amazon, but it hasn’t happened yet. If you want your book on Amazon, you’ll have to format it for the Kindle and upload it there.

Thanks for the info! And you are right. I hadn’t realized until after I wrote this article that technically Amazon and Smashwords are still in negotiating the terms for that coming venture.

It’s been going on for a long time, so don’t hold your breath. But at least you can get an idea of how well the book will be able to do without Amazon. Or just go ahead and do the formatting and uploading. I’ve heard that it’s pretty easy.
